What Can a Smart Phone Do?

What Can a Smart Phone Do? This is a common questions that most people ask when they are thinking of purchasing a new Smartphone. This question can simply be answered by looking at the different common features in a Smartphone and their functions.

Technology advancement has brought significant changes in modern gadgets but at the same time, it is true that, there are a number of people who don’t really understand what gadget is best suitable for a specific purpose. This also applies to Smartphone and for those who don’t have enough knowledge, choosing the right Smartphone can be a big problem.

There are many classic, high quality Smartphones in the market but we all agree that, specific features are very important in determining a Smartphone worth the price. A Smartphone may simply be defined as a simple PC and works almost in a similar way like as a computer. It has an operating system that allows the user to modify the applications found in the phone. Other services such as email, internet and USB keyboard are same features that can be found in computers or PC.

Taking time to decide what features you need and what is the main purpose of buying the phone help in saving you a lot of time and you are left with few options to choose from unlike when you don’t know what type of Smartphone you want to buy. All Smartphone should have some features that distinguish them from other ordinary phones and performing specific purpose.

The following is a list of common features, their functions and what to consider if you thinking of purchasing a smart phone;

Design, Screen Size and Resolution
Design is one of the most important features that attract a buyer. The Smartphone should not be so heavy to carry around and the screen size should be enough to fit videos or photos, perfectly. A medium sized screen will do better than a small screen. The screen resolution should be of high quality and in most cases, a Smartphone with resolutions of 320 x 240 pixels can be sufficient.

Input
It is important to consider buying a phone that come with both touchscreen and keyboard. In most cases, using touch screen might not be so easy especially if you will be typing and sending a lot of messages. If you are more comfortable with touchscreen alone, then you can just buy a Smartphone that doesn’t have the keyboard.

There are other Smartphone that comes with a stylus which can be very helpful during writing or scribbing. This can only be applicable if your screen is slightly bigger than 2.5”. Otherwise, it won’t be very productive to use a stylus with a very small screen. There are also other available Smartphones that can allow you to write or scribble using your fingers which can be a better option to others.

Personal Management Tools
These include things like calendar, contact, task list and notes. A Smartphone acts as life management devices and must include these important organizational features. Most of the them support synchronizing, allowing for document viewing and editing in the PCs. Some Smartphone have the ability to support third party or browser-based programs that can perform a variety of specific functions. Third party applications are some of the key component that allow the user to customize their Smartphone to support their lifestyles and needs.

Storage
Most Smartphone allow storage of data. Some of them have slots that support minim storage cards such as SD, miniSD, microSD, MMC type cards and can be bigger until 1 to 16G in storage sizes. Other Smartphones come with built in storage facilities but do not have those slots.

Multimedia
A good smart phone should have at least a 5megapixel camera with zoom features working accordingly. A front camera is important if you intend to do video calling. It should also have other features like WIFI, Bluetooth and ability to play and record audio and video. Smartphone have built in music player, video player, image viewers and support for different audio and video codec that allows you to listen and play a broad range of music and video file formats.

Communication
The foundation of business is communication and it is one of the most important functions of any phone whether smart or not. The calling devices should include all typical cell phone features such as speakerphone, three-way calling, voice dialing and call waiting among others. A Smartphone should also come with a data cable that allows connecting to the PC and synchronize files or personal information such as contacts, calendars and tasks.

Other features found in Smartphone should includes; wireless and Bluetooth which allows one to use a vast array or Bluetooth accessories such as handsfree headsets, wireless stereo headsets, wireless keyboards and mice. Some Smartphone comes with satellite navigation systems for GPS navigation purposes.

Battery Life and Memory
A long lasting battery should be the best choice for a Smartphone. No one wants a battery that will be charged every two hours. The battery should be able to last for the full day and the memory should be enough to accommodate all your data.

What is the Internet

It is obvious that most people are aware of what is the internet but for the sake of those few who may not be knowing much about internet, this post is meant to help you in understanding more about the use of the internet.

So, what is the internet. Internet is basically a wordwide collection of computers which are connected to each other by use of telephone lines, cables, satellite links with their main purpose been to exchange data or information from one computer to another.

History of the Internet

The innovation of internet began a few decades ago as  an ARPA net project. This was a U.S Department defense project that was intended to create a computer network that could  be able to preserve most of the information even if most of computers got destroyed during war.

Over the proceeding years, the computers were primarily used for research, academic and government research projects until later in 1992, when the US government released the computers to the public.

From that time until today, the number of people using computers and internet has tremendously increased. According to a survey conducted by CommerceNet and Nielsen Media Research in early 1997, nearly one out of every four Americans over the age of 16 is an Internet user. This shows a significant increase in the number of people using the internet especially among the younger generations.

The usage of the internet continue to have a big impact world wide. With the latest research by IBM showing that, more than 146 countries currently have at least some level of Internet access. It is estimated that by the end of the century, there will be atleast one billion people worldwide who will have access to personal computers and internet.

So, what is the main purpose of using the internet. The internet is used to;

  •     Pass information or data from one person to another.
  •     For sending emails from one person to another or to a company.
  •     For transmitting news or updates from one person to another or world wide.
  •     For personal use eg. writing personal documents, sharing personal videos etc.
  •     For making money online by creating a personal online blog/website.
  •     For transmitting important news or breaking news.
  •     Sharing data among colleague or people with the same interest.
  •     Problem solving - You can ask for a solution through the use of internet.
  •     Advertisement purposes.
  •     Research purposes.

The internet also provides easy to use graphics, formatting tools and artwork which are readily available online for free. Through the use of internet, you can download videos, images, software etc. Internet is a channel for community building, social networking and many more other forms of interaction like forums, instant messaging, chatting etc.

There is so much information that you would learn about internet but I guess, the most important thing is understanding the main use of internet, which I have listed above. One disadvantage of using internet is that, there is no rule in place that govern the regulation of internet. Some people turn to internet to prey on un suspecting internet users or for other un ethical person purposes which make internet very unsafe especially for younger people.

With the advancement of technology which has brought about complexity in computers, the internet networking seems to be advancing with technology and for sure, we can expect alot in the coming days when it comes to multimedia or other innovative ways to use internet.

Learn and Read Complete Online Quran Majeed "Holy Quran" with many Translations, Sura / Chapter,Juz, Script, Reciter in many Languages

Online Quran Majeed
The Qur'an ("Qor-Ann") is a Message from Allah (swt) to humanity. It was transmitted to us in a chain starting from the Almighty Himself (swt) to the angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad (saw). This message was given to the Prophet (saw) in pieces over a period spanning approximately 23 years (610 CE to 632 CE). The Prophet (saw) was 40 years old when the Qur'an began to be revealed to him, and he was 63 when the revelation was completed. The language of the original message was Arabic, but it has been translated into many other languages.

The Qur'an is one of the two sources which form the basis of Islam. The second source is the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw). What makes the Qur'an different from the Sunnah is primarily its form. Unlike the Sunnah, the Qur'an is literally the Word of Allah (swt), whereas the Sunnah was inspired by Allah but the wording and actions are the Prophet's (saw). The Qur'an has not been expressed using any human's words. Its wording is letter for letter fixed by no one but Allah.

Prophet Muhammad (saw) was the final Messenger of Allah to humanity, and therefore the Qur'an is the last Message which Allah (swt) has sent to us. Its predecessors such as the Torah, Psalms, and Gospels have all been superseded. It is an obligation - and blessing - for all who hear of the Qur'an and Islam to investigate it and evaluate it for themselves. Allah (swt) has guaranteed that He will protect the Qur'an from human tampering, and today's readers can find exact copies of it all over the world. The Qur'an of today is the same as the Qur'an revealed to Muhammad (saw) 1400 years ago.
